The ones we are asked most, answered properly rather than briefly.
Quality & authenticity
How do I know the silk is real?
Every pure silk piece carries a Silk Mark tag where certification applies, and the product page states the exact composition. The oldest test still works: pull a thread from the fringe and burn it. Real silk smells of burnt hair and turns to brittle ash; polyester smells chemical and melts into a hard bead.
What is the difference between real and imitation zari?
Real half-fine zari is silver wire, electroplated with gold, wound on a silk core — around 57% silver in the grade we use. Imitation zari is metallised polyester film. Real zari costs several times more, tarnishes gently over decades, and is heavier in the hand. We state which one is used on every product page.
Handloom or powerloom — which should I buy?
Handloom for a piece that has to last a lifetime and carry meaning: bridal, heirloom, temple. Powerloom for a saree you want to wear twenty times without worrying about it. Both are stated openly on every page, and neither is a lesser choice — they are answers to different questions.
The colour looks different from the photograph.
Silk is dyed in batches and every screen renders colour differently. One or two shades of variation is normal. If the difference is greater than that, return it — the policy covers exactly this situation.
Ordering & payment
Do you offer cash on delivery?
Yes — and right now it is the only way to pay. You order online and hand the courier the full amount in cash when the parcel reaches you. Nothing is charged when you place the order, so please keep the exact amount ready, as couriers rarely carry change.
Can I see the actual saree before I buy?
Yes, and we recommend it above a few thousand rupees. Message us on WhatsApp with the product code and we will send video of that exact piece, in daylight, before you pay.
Can I order over WhatsApp instead of the website?
Absolutely. Plenty of our customers prefer it. Send us the function, the colour and your budget and we will send options back.
Do you give a GST invoice?
Yes, with every order. If you need it addressed to a business, add the GSTIN at checkout or tell us on WhatsApp.
Shipping & returns
How long does delivery take?
Dispatch within 48 hours. Metro cities 3–5 working days after that, rest of India 5–8. Every parcel is tracked and insured.
What does shipping cost?
Free above ₹2,999. Below that, a flat ₹99.
Can I return a saree?
Within 7 days of delivery, unworn, tags intact, original packing. We arrange the pickup. Made-to-order bridal pieces are exchange-only, because they were woven for you specifically.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. Freight is quoted per order on WhatsApp, and destination duties are the buyer’s responsibility.
Bridal
How far ahead should I order a bridal saree?
Three months is comfortable. A bridal Kanjivaram takes eight to eleven weeks on the loom, and you want time for the blouse to be stitched and fitted afterwards.
Can I choose the colour and border myself?
Yes, on made-to-order pieces. Pick the body colour, the border and the pallu design, and we will send video from the loom while it is being woven.
Can I see it before it ships?
Always. For bridal we send video at three points: on the loom, off the loom, and packed.
Wholesale
Do you sell wholesale?
Yes — it is what we have done since 1978. Minimum 20 pieces. Register on the wholesale page for the current rate list.
Can I mix colours in one order?
Yes. Most designs run in six to ten colourways and you can take any combination.
