Saree lengths

Our sarees run 5.5 metres plus a 0.80 m unstitched blouse piece, at 1.06 m (42 inches) wide. This is the standard length and suits heights from roughly 5’0″ to 5’8″ in a Nivi drape.

• 5.5 m — standard. Nivi, Bengali and most modern drapes.
• 6.0 m— for heights above 5’8″, or anyone who prefers deeper pleats and a longer pallu.
• 9.0 m (madisar) — traditional Tamil Brahmin drape, worn without a petticoat. Made to order — ask on WhatsApp.

Blouse measurements

All measurements in inches. Every saree ships with an unstitched blouse piece — take it to your tailor with these as a starting point, not a rule.

Lehenga measurements

All our lehengas carry a margin of at least 2 inches in the waist so a tailor can let them out. Skirt lengths can be shortened but never lengthened — order to your tallest expected heel height.

How to measure yourself

1. Bust — around the fullest part, tape level all the way round and not pulled tight.
2. Waist — the narrowest point, usually an inch above the navel. Breathe out normally; do not hold it in.
3. Hip — the fullest part, roughly 8 inches below the waist.
4. Blouse length — from the shoulder seam down to where you want the hem to sit. Measure over the blouse you already wear most.

Measure over a well-fitting garment, not over a saree, and get someone else to hold the tape if you can. Self-measured bust readings run small by an inch more often than not.
